May 9, 1967 - April 3, 2024

Jeffry Michael Barhorst,

Age 56, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes early Wednesday morning, April 3, 2024, at his Water Street residence in Fort Loramie, Ohio.  He was born May 9, 1967, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Nicholas & Anne (Paulus) Barhorst of Fort Loramie.  On October 22, 1988, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Jeff married Paula Jo (Siegel) Barhorst who survives.  Also surviving are three sons, Peyton & Olivia (Grooms) Barhorst, Parker Barhorst and Chase Barhorst, all of Fort Loramie; three siblings: Steve & Lisa (Gaier) Barhorst, Brad & Nikki (Koverman) Barhorst and Theresa & Kevin Hoying, all of Fort Loramie; In-laws: Vernon & Mary Jo. (Schmitmeyer) Siegel of Fort Loramie; brothers & sisters-in-law: Anthony & Jill (Poly) Siegel, Vernon Jr. & Brenda (Clark) Siegel, Carla Siegel, William “Bill” & Kris (Puthoff) Siegel and Kelly & Matthew Tennery, all of Fort Loramie along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeff was a 1985 graduate of Fort Loramie High School and a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church.  He had been owner and operator of Park Street Garage in Fort Loramie since acquiring the business from his father in 2007.  Additionally, he worked with Nick, developing perfectionist skills, for several years prior.  Years ago, Jeff had been employed at Crown Equipment and the Minster Machine Co.  While automotive work and his family were his passion, Jeff also enjoyed motorcycling, camping, cooking, gardening and as always, tinkering with projects to keep things working.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Aaron Hess presiding.  Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.  Family and friends may call Friday, 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.  Memorials may be made to charities of choice.  Private condolences may be expressed at www.gehretfuneralhome.com.
