Karen Sue (Denning) Vandam,
Age 61, of Dayton, Ohio, was found to have passed away of natural causes at her residence on November 16, 2025. She was born August 17, 1964, in Troy, Ohio. Her parents are the late James Denning and Mr. & Mrs. Frank & Betty (Denning) DeLoye of Fort Loramie. Also surviving are three children, Renee, Joshua and Nathan Vandam, all of Dayton; four grandchildren: Bree and Joshua Donnor and Vincent and Lukas Vandam; three sisters: Beverly Denning of St. Marys, Barb Hoelscher of Fort Loramie, Connie Huff of Newport as well as step siblings: Deb & Dave Goffena of Sidney, Vicki & Cecel Branscum of Sidney, Scott & Lynn DeLoye of Fort Loramie and a stepsister-in-law: Kelly DeLoye of California along with numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vandam and one stepbrother, Terry DeLoye.
Karen was a 1982 graduate of Fort Loramie High School. Over the years, she had been waitressing at restaurants in the Beaver Creek area. Karen was dedicated to her family and grandchildren. In her leisure, she enjoyed crafting, flower gardening and collecting ornamental rocks to decorate her yard.
An evening Memorial Blessing will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, December 1, 2025, at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie with Deacon Paul Timmerman presiding. Family and friends may call Monday, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Gehret Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to animal rescue/adoption services or charities of choice.
