Ruth Ann Ernst,

Age 69, of Sawmill Road, Fort Loramie, Ohio, was found to have passed away of natural causes at her residence Tuesday morning, July 29, 2025.  She was born January 17, 1956, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Frederick “Fritz” & Cleola (Frankenberg) Ernst.  Surviving are three siblings: Jacob & Mary Ernst, Kathy Ahrns and Mary Ellen & Joe Brandewie, all of Fort Loramie; nieces and nephews: Katie Ernst, Kim Winner, Abby Houchin, Lauren Ernst, Heather & Brent Bergman, James Brandewie, Cory & Chelsea Brandewie and David & Katy Ahrns as well as great nieces & nephews: Braden Ernst, McKinley Smith, Josh Winner, Kyleigh Houchin, Holdyn Bergman, Hoyer Vorhees, Lane, Willow, Oaklynn and Briggs Bergman.  She was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Donald Ahrns.

Ruth was a 1974 graduate of Fort Loramie High School.  She went on to Sinclair Community College in Dayton to obtain certification in Surgical Technology.  In 2019, she retired from Wilson Health Hospital in Sidney where she had been a surgical technician for 40 years.  Ruth was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the White Oak Lake family.  She loved to travel and seemed to have been everywhere.  Ruth especially enjoyed spending time with her nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.  She was also an avid Redskin basketball and football fan. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Friday, August 1, 2025, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Mark Bredestege presiding.  Interment will take place at St. Michael Cemetery followed by a memorial luncheon at the Fort Loramie American Legion.  Memorials may be made to the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad or charities of choice.  Private condolences may be expressed at the gehretfuneralhome.com website.
