Luella M. (Simon) Borchers,
Age 91, of E. Lane Street, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes early Wednesday morning, December 18, 2019, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born February 19, 1928, in Russia, Ohio, to the late Alfred and Christine (Monnier) Simon. On April 19, 1950, at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia, Luella married Albert H. Borchers who preceded her in death on May 10, 1997. Surviving are four children: Cheryl & John Biggs of Sidney, John & Sue Borchers of Troy, Dan & Karen Borchers of Versailles, Mike & Kathy Borchers of Springboro; six grandchildren: Jennifer & Tyler Chronaberry, Adam & Blaine Biggs, Bethany & Dan Nartker, Laura, Amanda and Nicole Borchers along with five great-grandchildren: Kyra, Kaynen, Jackson, Tatum and Quinten; one sister, Henrietta Brookey - Blue of Dayton, brothers & sisters-in-law: Richard Boesch of Dayton, Martha Simon of Russia and Sam Doseck of Fort Loramie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Matthew Borchers; six siblings: Velma & Ed Monnin, Bertha & Wilfred Monnin, Sylvia & Floyd Monnier, Mildred Boesch, Leslie & Jeannette Simon and Harold Simon; brothers & sisters-in-law, Ralph Brooks, Martha & Gilbert Hilgefort, Clarence & Bernadette Borchers, Charlotte Borchers, Tony & Hilda Borchers, Louie & Henrietta Borchers, Herbert & Ann Borchers, Emma & Dick Kaiser, Mildred & Bill Barhorst, Leona & Jim Steinemann, Helen & Cy Barga, Agnes & Vernon Winner, John Borchers and Mary Lou & Homer Bornhorst.
Lu had been a dedicated homemaker and farmwife. She was more recently retired from the Minster Marathon Gas station. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality and a few cherished card clubs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2019, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
