Lawrence "Larry" J. Hoehne,

Age 79, of N. Main Street, Fort Loramie, Ohio, passed away of natural causes at his residence Thursday afternoon, November 29, 2018. He was born April 24, 1939, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Lawrence H. and Eleanor (Borchers) Hoehne. On July 18, 1964, at Sacred Heart Church in McCartyville, Larry married Virginia "Ginny" (Tebbe) Hoehne who survives. Also surviving are four children: Joseph & Susan Hoehne of Anna, Elizabeth & Stewart DeVilbiss of Centerville, David & Linda Hoehne of Green Forest, AR, and Frances & Carlos Lemos of Melbourne, FL, along with seven grandchildren: Amanda, Bridget and Courtney Hoehne, Adam & Laura, Aaron & Breanne and Clay DeVilbiss, Jessica & Clint Chapman and a great-granddaughter, Olivia DeVilbiss; six siblings: Carl Hoehne of New Bremen, Francis Hoehne of Ft. Loramie, Dorothy & Eugene Richard of Versailles, Paul & Connie Hoehne of Newport, Janice & Leon Stockman of Fort Loramie and James & Mary Hoehne of Fort Loramie; sisters & brothers-in-law: Doris Hoehne of Fort Loramie and Kathleen Hoehne of Newport, Marilyn (Hoehne) & Jim York of Versailles, Patrick & Marilyn Tebbe of Anna and Richard & Colleen Tebbe of Anna along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Urban, Edward and Cyril Hoehne as well as two sisters-in-law, Alberta Hoehne and Marlene Hoehne.

Mr. Hoehne was a 1957 graduate of Russia High School. He later served in the Air Force Reserves resultant of the Cuban Missile Crisis and had been stationed in Wilmington. Larry retired from Dorothy Love Retirement Community where he worked in apartment building maintenance. Previously, he had also been a maintenance specialist at Heritage Manor in Minster. He was a member the Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Sidney Moose Lodge and the former Fort Loramie Garden Club. He is a retired charter member of the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad. Larry was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed baking, cooking, traveling and playing cards with friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie with Rev. Philip Chilcote presiding. Private interment services will take place at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may gather Tuesday 3:00 to 7:00 PM for a Celebration of Life / Open House at St. Michael's Hall in Fort Loramie. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials may be made to Wilson Health Hospice, NSAC (National Survivor Advocates Coalition) or charity of donor's choice.
